Unit 1 - Definitional Dialogue
According to Dr. Mike, religion is a social institution set up to fill our need to know by answering the big questions of our existence. Discuss the utility of this definition, and provide examples from your own life that support this definition.

There is a lot more "religion" going on in the world than most of us are aware of. From Catholicism and Buddhism to the New Age movement and even science, "religion" is an activity we're all engaged in. Provide a personal account of your own "religious" activity, your own quest to answer "the big questions." If you're uncomfortable talking about yourself, feel free to talk about somebody else (just don't use real names).
