The most rapid gains made by women among the Canadian membership were during the 1960s when their proportion increased from 26.1 per cent in 1962 to 32.7 per cent in 1969; between 1969 and 1982, women increased only from 32.7 to 35.3 per cent, although they reached 36.9 per cent in 1981.
